Merry Christmas 2020

 

 This has been a very stressful and a very sad year for many. There have been many innocent men, women and children that have lost their lives due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. It is especially sad for myself, because my mother passed away this morning while in a nursing home. She did not die from the covid-19, no she passed away from congestive heart failure. Fortunately she passed away peacefully. My sister and younger brother did get to visit her and say their goodbyes. She passed away before the rest of us could visit her. This was due to the pandemic and how fast she deteriorated.  

  I have followed the political scene during this whole election fiasco. It has been one crazy year, that I never believed I would see. You still see President Trump doing everything he could to over turn the election results. It has taken about 8 months for the government to reach a deal for the stimulus package. Now I see President Trump vetoing the stimulus package and saying he wants to make it $2000 instead of $600. What kind of a person does this especially at Christmas.

  The only word that comes to mind is Grinch. He sits in the white house, just like the grinch sat in his cave. He keeps whining and complaining about everything and everyone. He has turned out to be a person that cares nothing about the American men, women and children. He cares only about his self and no one else.I just wonder what it will take for his heart to become normal and full of love.

 

  

My Mother Is On Her Death Bed

  I am posting this today as my mother may be passing away today. She is in a nursing home and is not doing very well at the age of 87 years old. What I am upset about is the fact that my younger brother, who is in the born again church wants to save her. He wants her to say their little prayer, that I accept Jesus as my Personal Savior. Then she will be saved, all sin forgiven for all time and she will enter heaven. I am Catholic, was married in the assembly of god church, which is a born again church. My wife and I left there years ago due to realizing through the Holy Spirit, that is not the true church.

  Due to covid-19 only two people can go to visit my mother. I can not go due to having an upper respiratory infection, that has gone into a sinus infection. I felt it would be better for my younger sister and my younger brother to see her. My fear is that he may try to preach to her. I don't think he will, because she is not responding to anyone at this time. I constantly pray for the conversion of my brother to see the true Church and come back to the Catholic Church.

  I do not think he will convert, because he has been in the born again church for many years and is basically brainwashed by them. In any event I ask who ever reads this, please say a prayer for my mother, Mary Deao. I have spoken to my mother every day and always end the conversation with, I Love You.

 Unfortunately my mother passed away on December 24th 2020. I did learn from from my sister that my younger brother in fact was trying to get my mother to say their little statement that she accepts Jesus as her personal savior. My mother was not even coherent and would let out a groan every so often. If she was hearing him, I am sure she was telling him to shut up.

 What my brother does not understand, is that my mother had a closer personal relationship with Jesus through the partaking of the Holy Eucharist.

The Catholic Church has been in existence on the earth longer than any other Christian denomination. The Catholics can trace the Pope's and the Catholic Church's authority back to Peter at the time of Jesus Christ. Most other Christian churches broke away from the Catholic Church at one point in time or another. But, they still retain many of the traditions and beliefs of the Catholic Church.
If you examine the hierarchy of the Catholic Church you would find that it is very similar to the Church that Jesus Christ established when he set up his Church. Just as Peter was the head of the Church after Christ was crucified, the Church today has the Pope. Then there are the cardinals. The Bishops are like the apostles and then there are deacons and priests. Only men are able to participate in the leadership roles in the Church.
The Catholic Church rests on a foundation of four basic beliefs or tenets. These beliefs are: One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. Here are brief definitions of the beliefs to make them clearer:
One: One stands for the one true gospel of Jesus Christ. Although there are many principles within the gospel, there is only one true gospel and one true Church as Jesus Christ set it up. It also stands for the one body of Jesus Christ.
Holy: Holy means that the Catholic Church is perfect, pure and sanctified. Although the members and even the leadership are not perfect the church itself is perfect.
Catholic: The word Catholic can be traced back to the Greek word "katas" which means universal or whole. If you were to look at the statement of beliefs for some Protestant religions not just the Catholic Church, you would find the term "catholic" in them as well. When Jesus Christ was on the earth, he commanded his followers to take the gospel to the whole earth so that in theory all people would share one belief and faith.
Apostolic: Just as when Christ was on the earth, the Catholics set up a Church with apostles.
The Catholics in the world today number over 1 billion. The church is concerned that it is not growing as fast as some of the Protestant and other religions. They have also battled scandals regarding leaders who have been accused and convicted of crimes against children and also leaders who hid the evidence. Some believe that the Church needs to update its views on women in the priesthood and other societal issues. But, it is unlikely that a church that has been around for 2,000 years will change any time soon.
