What Will The Catholic Church Be Like In The Next 50 Years ?

Many people constantly criticize the Catholic Church mainly , because they do not understand what we do as Catholics. The biggest problem is the lies that get spread by the Catholic Bashers. They have been around for a long time and they do everything in their power to destroy the Catholic Church. Well I am sorry to say that they will never accomplish this. I guess that have never read in scripture that the gates of hell will never prevail.
The Catholic Church has changed in quite a few different ways since I went to Mass back in the 60s and 70s. I spent some time going to a Pentecostal Church in the early 80s where my wife and I were married. We left that church by the power of the Holy Spirit, when he woke me up due to the constant judging of everyone and everything. I judged my own mother and that was when I realized something was wrong. We ended up in the Lutheran Church for quite a few years and the Holy Spirit woke me up again. It centered around the Holy Eucharist and my journey finally brought me back to the Catholic Church and I am home.
Coming back to the Catholic Church was quite a shock. Gone were the days of the holiness that I once remembered. The church now seems to have a brighter look and that sanctity is there, but just not the same. I see people holding hands during the Our Father and raising their hands just like the priest. They even seem to have a small band going on to the left or right of the altar. Some even had the drop down screen over the altar with the bouncing ball so you can follow along with the music.
All these things have been brought into the Catholic Church by Protestants that could not leave all their ways behind. They do not realize that they can not make up the rules as they go along. The problem I see is that the Priest does not say anything or explain to the congregation why they are not supposed to do these things. Maybe these are just more signs that the end of the world is near. So will the Church be the same or worse in the next 50 years ? I have a feeling at some point good priests will come along and straighten out the people. They may lose people and in the process lose money, but will be better off in the long run.

Merry Christmas - A Savior Is Born

It's Christmas time once again and everyone is scurrying around to find that someone a special Christmas Gift to put under the Christmas Tree. If you are looking for something special, Click Here And Visit My Catholic Website. Well this year we did all of our Christmas shopping online through Amazon and Lowes. It is sort of a cheap kind of Christmas and not the way I remember it growing up as a child.

What I mean is that yes we bought things, but they were not very expensive. We generally shopped at the local dimes store and had just a couple of presents a piece between my other 2 brothers and my sister. You see I did not come from a wealthy family. My Mom was a stay at home Mother and my stepfather worked at where ever he could.

My Stepfather worked for awhile at a local store called JB Hunters. He used to bring home all the things that the store threw out. So basically they were a lot of broken unwanted toys, but his heart was in the right place and that meant a lot. He put a roof over our heads and food in our stomach. Oh there were times when we had some arguments. When he was about 63 he passed away during his sleep from a massive heart attack. That is what smoking constantly and drinking beer every night will do to you. I was the one that had to check him to make sure he was really gone. It was very difficult at 18 years old to go through that.

So what do I remember about the Catholic Church and Christmas time ? Well I remember the Christmas Wreaths around the Church and the Manger Scene that they set up in the Church. I remember the really nice nice Masses, where the acoustic guitar playing became popular. I also remember getting a little box of hard candy that lasted for a little while. I do remember going a few times to Midnight Mass and being really tired. It was just that time of the season I will always remember, plus all the Christmas Hyms that were sung during Mass.

I will tell you that in the last few years of my Stepfathers life we did become closer. I remember he did not have a car, so I drove him to the store on some very cold winter nights. He did teach me how to use the big snowblower to clean out the driveway. Sadly I was the one that had to blow the snow out of the driveway on that cold September night when he passed away. I can remember going to  work as the night custodian and having all these strange thoughts going through my head as to what our family would do without my Stepfather.

Well time went on and we made it through the many Christmases to follow. I am now almost the age when he passed away, but I do not follow the path of drinking and smoking that he did. I hope to live a long time and see many more Christmases to come with my grandchildren some day.

Thank You For Reading and Merry Christmas !

Catholic Church - The One True Church

The Early Church Fathers Had It Right

When I was deciding on what church was the best church, I wanted to know what they were doing back then and what church was doing these things today. I found out that some of these people were directly associated with the apostles. I knew that they were doing what the Apostles did and the Apostles were taught by Jesus. That's when I realized that The Catholic Church was The True Church started by Jesus Christ and I wanted to do what Jesus taught and not what men were teaching in other churches.

Do You Drink The Wine At Catholic Your Catholic Mass ?

I choose not to drink the precious blood of Christ from the cup, because too many sick people come to Mass and drink from it before me. I can not understand why the people who are sick come to Mass and want to shake your hand, hold your hand during the Our Father or just plain get in your face. As for myself I try to avoid the sick people every time I go to Mass.
I do not understand why the people who are sick do not understand that it is not a Mortal Sin to miss Mass and stay home when they are sick. I will tell you I find it very difficult to concentrate at Mass when some one is coughing, blowing their nose or sneezing. When I was sick I stayed home, so I would not infect others and new it was not a Mortal Sin. Do you really think that God does not unstand your situation. I believe he is a loving Father and understands more than you will ever know.
I tend to not want to go to Mass, because I do not want to get sick. If I do and I miss going to my work, then I am in trouble there. So I believe that the Church and the individual Priests should be explaining to the congregation that they should stay home when sick and that it is not a Mortal Sin. If you are that sick you need to stay home and recover from whatever illness you have. I even see this going on where I work too. Workers are afraid to stay home when sick for being ridiculed for being sick. One worker is sick with the flu and certain people say oh he should come in and work. What would they do if they ended up sick with the flu and ended up on their death bed, because he came in with it.
Okay so back to sick people at Mass. Well for me I tend to not want to go to Mass for fear of getting sick from someone. I have been in other churches where they took the wine and put it in small chalices and you took the chalice, drank it and placed it in the holder. The only issue would be the adding of the water to the wine. It would have to be done before the wine was distributed into the small chalices. If this were done and the wine was in front of the priest when he prayed, it should be transferred to Christs Blood. Maybe this should be the common practice in all Catholic Churches to try and stop infection and all people may partake.

Don't Leave The Catholic Church For All That Glitters Is Not Gold

I have seen quite a few of my family members and friends from Catholic school that have become born again Christians. Well even myself drifted when I was 18 and at 25 met my wife and started going to the assembly of god church. This just one more step on my journey eventually back to the Catholic Church.
So exactly what did draw me to the born again church. Well thinking back it was just a good time. There was something very simple about it. All you had to do was say the little prayer, I accept Jesus As My Personal Savior. I was now saved and if I sinned I was always forgiven. Wow that made it easy, no more going to confession and feeling embarrassed. Communion was just a symbol eating some crackers and drinking grape juice. Yes and there was all the happy singing and clapping of hands.
Well I never did go down to the so called altar call and say that little prayer. You see I realized that I have always known Jesus Christ and have a very personal relationship. As time went on I was judging everyone and everything. When I started judging my own mother, i knew something was wrong. I know she has always loved Jesus and believed he died on the cross to take away the sins of the world.
The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and soul. He filled me with awesome knowledge and the truth. I knew it was time for my wife and I to leave this false church. We searched around and found the Lutheran Church. Once again it was a very nice church with lots of people that loved Jesus. I did not have the judging problem, but I knew in my heart that something was still wrong.
One day the pastor spoke about communion and the Holy Spirit filled me once again. I had to learn what church was the true church. I studied through history and kept ending up at the Catholic Church. I gathered various books that my mother came across at garage sales. One night I was watching EWTN the Catholic Chanel on cable tv and I saw the journey home show. Scott Hahn was talking about his journey and he spoke about the Holy Eucharist.
The Holy Spirit filled my heart and soul with the truth. I knew that I had to come back to the Catholic Church. I spoke to my wife and explained what I had to do. I did tell he that she had to decide for herself what she wanted to do. She prayed about it and her and my children became Catholic. My Journey still goes on, but I will never wander away again.
So when you are in your born gain church open your eyes and take a long hard look around you. Ask yourself is all that glitters gold. Are you just repeating what your pastor preaches to you, because it sounds so lovely and so easy to do.

Is Death The End Or Just The Beginning ?

First of all I felt compelled to write this post as a friend of mines wife has stage 4 cancer and has about 2 weeks to live. Many people in other faiths believe that when we die, that is the end. They believe that their loved one is gone never to return. Yes they feel that they will never see them again. Well I do not believe that, in fact I believe it is only the beginning of an awesome life in eternity with Jesus Christ, God The Father, The Holy Spirit and all of our loved ones that have gone on before us.
I have seen many individuals that have spoken about their near death experiences. Now some of it may be false, because not everyone goes to heaven At least not right away. There are many passages in the Holy Bible that speak about Heaven. There are also many things that point out the fact that there are many in Heaven. For example about having a great cloud of witnesses in heaven. There is also about to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ. Also when Jesus said that his father has many mansions in Heaven for us. Why would there be places for us if it were the end and we were no more.

The Catholic Church And The Holy Bible

Well first off I wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2019 to everyone. Okay back to the subject about the Catholic Church and The Holy Bible. Many individuals in other religions, such as Pentecostals, Protestants and others have a notion in their heads that Catholics do not read the Bible. This is just another example of people that do not realize exactly what we do in the Catholic Church.
Many people do not generally see a Catholic carrying around a Bible with them wherever they go. I know way back I was brought up Catholic, met my wife in my 20s and ended up in the Pentecostal Assembly Of God Church. I can remember a friend of my wife's asking her if she really wanted to marry me, because I did not carry a Bible with me all the time. Her friend was actually in the Baptist Church.
Most of the individuals from these other faiths were very good at memorizing scripture and spouting it back out to try and convert someone. I actually started doing that same thing while in the Pentecostal Church. I carried the Bible with me and was reading it all the time at work. It came to a point when I left that faith, because I was judging everyone and everything, even my own mother. I realized that this was wrong, because I have always believed in Jesus Christ. Through the Eucharist I have an even deeper relationship with Jesus than they ever will. He is in me and I am in him.
What people do not realize is that if they went to Mass every day they would have read through the whole Bible.
